Seeing the wood means pausing to see the trees still for all their wonder

What is it with all the words, jostling to be heard, meanings lost in the gaps, spoken & unspoken, falling to the ground misheard, drifting off misunderstood. If only we could let our words be, held lightly in the spaces in between, while understanding settles, gently.

We need ideas. They can be where change starts, and how we continue building on good stuff already happening. We do need to share ideas, though. That means letting go, collaborating. That can feel hard. Maybe the best ideas happen in the spaces in between, beyond each one of us.

Belonging in teams doesn't just happen. It takes work. Embracing our differences, Revealing our vulnerabilities & humanity, Modelling our flaws, Valuing & celebrating one another. Belonging changes everything, And yet it costs no money. Be the person who does this.

When the challenge is how to get the tangle of ideas, reflections, and feelings out of my head and onto the page, coherently. Getting there, slowly.

Good morning. So much gratitude to and for the wonderful people who help me keep a sense of perspective.

Imagine if we could channel all the energy expended in judging other people harshly into learning, appreciating & loving life, caring, creativity, and coming up with collaborative solutions.

When we see the 'finished article', what if we could also hear the ideas meandering, feelings circling, questions forming, and be ready to be alongside each other in an incomplete space where meanings are always unfolding.

Sometimes, support can feel challenging, even though it may be offered with genuine kindness. Equally, challenge can be the most supportive thing possible when it's offered & provided with honest care & curiosity.

It never gets easier, but it's always worth it for the views when you get there. If you know, you know!

As most of our work relies on working well with other people, then how we nurture our relationships is essential. It's a simple equation, really. Yet paying real attention to the quality of our relationships is an ongoing ask, & it requires care, integrity, empathy, & humility.

Lines which get crossed in pursuit of profit; or greed, by another name.

Signs

In all the noise, I find so few places where real conversations are happening. Not polished, careful discussions, sidestepping the real issues. Not polarised, stage-managed, angry debates. *Real* conversations in all their open, messy, honest, wondering, caring incompleteness.
