BNEF's 2019 Electric Vehicle Outlook will be out shortly! Lots of fascinating new analysis on commercial EVs, long term demand for freight, e-buses, shared mobility and more. The result of lots of hard work from our transport, oil, energy storage, and regional teams.

Was a pleasure to host panels with Chris Borroni-Bird on Mobility, Chris Messina on the evolution of tech, Nick Cooney & Marc Oshima of AeroFarms on Future Food. Tech can revolutionise humanity if we deploy it sensibly #TransformingWorld

As I’ve just found out the hard way - not all PHEVs come with the right cable, becoming another “optional” extra from some OEMs/dealers.

Heard from a few companies retrofitting classic cars with electric powertrain in the last few weeks and now they’re doing it on #TopGear - new trend perhaps...I would love an old Jag / MG / Triumph / TVR if we could make it EV 🤔

Was time to see what all the fuss is about with #micromobility getting across town to meetings with @tierscooters - great app / registration; probably poses more safety and segregation questions longer term but a good #Mobility addition nonetheless.

Good to be back Frost & Sullivan #IntelligentMobility Conference / the world of #mobility continues to evolve as do the sectors participating at the event: autos, Mobility Services, transport, energy, cities, freight, suppliers and tech in particular - good to see you guys

I know they’re contentious but I do love using these when in Frankfurt / other cities. Be interested to see how it translates into mode shift as they scale in Europe (I know I’ve swapped cab trips so far) - thanks @tierscooters #IAA

Public #EV charging is becoming A LOT better than it was a few years ago. Instant sign up / pay as you go usage. If only my car had a decent on board charger I’d have fully charged in an hour. Thanks @Pod_Point #Reading

As Colin Mckerracher alludes to this will probably mean less incentive for OEMs to sell EVs in the U.K. despite huge BIK benefits to stimulate the demand, supply might not follow...same problem we have at the moment with significant wait lists and minimal discounts for #EVs vs ICE

Great presentation by Matthew B. Britton today at our #TransformingWorld conference. Demographic shifts are already happening. Society and business is responding. “Grow up quick. Get old slow”

...now let’s hope the supply is there to match increasing #EV demand. With the BIK changes in April, likely to be long delays / wait times given limited battery capacity

“We are seeing a four-fold increase in the number of electric models between now and what will be released in 2023” - Martyn Briggs of Merrill Lynch on the future of EV production

Who killed the electric car is well worth a watch, documents what Tim Papandreou highlights here. The SUV point is arguably as much or more frustrating than the delayed progress on EVs (over sized, waste of resources, tougher to electrify)

It’s the #EV outlook that many of us look out for and refer to. Thanks Colin Mckerracher and team. Whilst it feels we’re at an inflection point on EVs, the hard work and bigger picture mobility decisions are yet to come, as your thread explains more eloquently!

I enjoyed speaking at Bank of America's Transforming World Conference in London last week, although this was pretty out of distribution for our autonomous vehicle...
