I'm getting close now to finishing my manuscript on Tuula's unsolved murder. This has been a huge endeavour, which has proved to be personal, emotional, energy sapping, and equally both exhilarating and upsetting. I am proud of my efforts and I hope you will be too

Morning everyone. Hope you all survived Storm Amy. I thought my windows were going to blow in at one point! If my hair gets wet, I don't look quite as cool as Jeanne Moreau did in Lift To The Scaffold, but at least I didn't suffer a power cut. Lots of households did.

I spent a poignant day yesterday with Tuula's family, going through her possessions which were recovered following her murder in 1966 In there was a card sent to her from Helsinki. And what was the front of the postcard? The very hotel I stayed in when I visited earlier this year

✍️ I'm obviously still a writer even when I'm asleep 😴 I used the word 'slipshod' in a dream last night, although I can't remember ever thinking about the word, using it, or hearing it in years. It's bizarre what our brains do . . . 🧠
