The magic of Bruno Sammartino. You can feel the energy building from the crowd as he makes his comeback, the support from the 22,000 concerned people who love him. And the roar of bloodlust that erupts when he starts laying into Kowalski is incredible. youtu.be/-OR2ffLpxwI?fe…

A tortured soul who left the world better than he found it. Surf into the sunset, Brian Wilson. Giants once walked among us. youtube.com/watch?v=uoDm_f…

Thanks to Bob Smith and Paige "Von Hess" Sutherland for joining me for this week's episode! It was a blast talking about Pedro Martinez's and Johnny Powers' NWF of the 1970s! Great conversation on one of territorial wrestling's most fascinating promotions.

I think somewhere on his journey through the Inferno, Dante must have encountered people whose afterlife punishment was having to sit through this show.

Little known Brian Solomon fact: I read for the part of Robert De Niro’s son in A Bronx Tale. I auditioned at Tribeca Studios after being recruited at my high school. Lilo Brancato, who got the part, was recruited at another high school in my neighborhood.

It gets me so crazy when people rave about what an "amazing run" Athena is on, simply because she's been ROH Women's champ for such an unprecedented length of time. She's buried on a show no one watches, in an endless series of meaningless non-title matches. She deserves better.

My new pet peeve: Wrestlers featured in backstage pre-tapes with their championship belts always perched unnaturally on their shoulders. As if we are expected to believe they all just go everywhere backstage carrying their belts on their shoulders like that for some reason.

Random observation from watching lots of WCW Saturday Night: Johnny B. Badd (Marc Mero) was a very good, fluid, entertaining worker who doesn’t get nearly enough credit for his solid wrestling ability.

If you watched the recent WrestleMania IX documentary (or even if you haven’t), take a listen to this week’s episode of SUAW with Joe Marotta, in which we look back at that fascinating and divisive event.
