John Tyler, America’s 10th president (1841-1845) had a living grandson. Until today. He’s the only president to be buried under the flag of another nation. His state funeral was held in Richmond, his coffin draped in the stars and bars of the Confederacy.

We once were a civilization that produced architecture and art that could humble your emotions. Now we produce brutalist monstrosities to destroy your emotions and make you dull to beauty.

I don’t like this messaging. Who are you to tell people they’re not entitled to *checks notes* their own home. They’re not gatekeeping. They’re living in their homes.

This is a solid point. There is no “spending” in the bill. It’s *not* taking more from the people. But spending cuts must be forced.

What many people don’t understand. Medicare/caid spending in 1970 when it was implemented was 1.7% of GDP. Today, it’s near 20%. The expansion of social safety nets is crushing our budget and sending debt off the cliff. No one wants to touch it. It has to be reformed.
