Capital gains changes in budget 2024 will create winners & losers among SMEs. These changes also have the potential to demotivate Canadians from going into biz in the 1st place or working hard to grow a biz. CFIB will be pushing back against any increase in the capital gains…

'While we appreciate it, $300 is definitely a drop in the bucket for a lot of businesses, who are spending up to tens of thousands of dollars to up their security or to fix their windows and so on,' Yoo said.

While CFIB appreciates the security rebate, $300 is a drop in the bucket for many businesses dealing with safety issues in their community. CFIB continues to recommend an expansion in the program, to provide higher rebates for both reparative and preventative measures.

Kudos to Government of Saskatchewan for its red tape reduction committee which has saved SK biz' more than $680 million in the past decade. Not only does cutting red tape save money, it can boost productivity, jobs, wages, ease stress, and free up more time for family.
