On 9/11, the first email I received was from a Lebanese teenager I coached at the University of Utah basketball camp. I think about that and him a lot every time there’s an attack there. I can’t believe we’re (directly or indirectly) supporting terror there (or anywhere).

Recently saw a Director prescribe a technical/tactical linear model to coaching methodology, suggesting a curriculum built on progressive age stages of development to teach concepts. I DO NOT Agree with such approach! as not everyone is the same! See thread below.... (1:10)

I said this when it happened: Blow the whistle sternly, run into position so nothing escalates, motion the Brighton player to move the ball back to where the foul actually occurred, & walk away with Rice telling him he’s lucky & not to be dumb. 100% he has a choice.

Saw Joey Burton post this and tried with whole team. Guys seemed to like it and got competitive, although slowed down their movement. Cost/benefit. One to steal though.

First, this is untrue, unfortunately. Plenty of coaches cause players to quit. Second, causing a player to quit because of the coach is bad coaching. "Never be a player's last coach." (This is about the comment, not Hurley).

NBA players really underestimate the role of size in their success. Not to take anything away from their success or work ethics, but 6'11 guys swim in a very shallow pool compared to 6'2 guys. Work might be half the battle at 6'10, but there are millions of 6'2 guys working.
