Thanks Elon Musk - modernizing the federal govt's IT systems is a great contribution. If only Department of Government Efficiency had focused on this, instead of eliminating 'baby pandas' that saved millions of lives and were potent uses of US 'soft power'. (Science; food assistance; peacekeeping; PEPFAR.)

The combination of my new piece in the Los Angeles Times on efforts in LA to address homelessness, and its posting by UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs (where I now am part-time teaching faculty), signals some positive ways in which life has been moving on.
