100 calved, 85 heifer calves. Still 2 days from planned start of calving. Perfect weather for calving. We need rain to fill the dams but it's nice being dry atm.

3 yrs ago we bought a 2nd hand 75hp Landini because we had less than no money. The Landini is paid for after feeding approximately 6000 bales. Today she qualified for early retirement and will now be the back up tractor for both farms! 90hp NH added to our high spec fleet!

Only 3 months since we got grass back in the diet. Perfect grass growing conditions but worryingly dry for mid September. Still the driest 12 months on record for this area.

First 150 calves off to the contract rearer for 10 months. They never forget the taste of milk! Top speed of 25km/hr on their 2km run to the yards! This mob have been weaned for 3 weeks and now weaned off grain.

I really stuffed up this morning, 530 cows went across this bridge but we couldn't get them back that way so it was a long walk home! 3 years since the last proper flood, lots of trees have fallen into the creek and are now blocking the flow of water under the bridges.

Consistency in breeding direction is difficult during expansion 🤣
