This afternoons walk in Beeston, Nottingham. Arbutus unedo (strawberry tree) doing it's thing! Fruits not quite ripe but some nice new flowers! And penty of pine cones responding to the predominantly wet spell of weather.

Have just had a dog walk in the October Beeston, Nottingham, sunshine. Often admire architecture of plant rosettes, herb-robert is a real beauty, find goat's-roe a little scary and shining cranesbill full of promise. Sun spurge and pellitory-on-the-wall a bit also runs.

Today's, cool but sunny, walk with the dog and granddaughter, Chloe, around Beeston, Nottingham streets this morning. Some magnificent dandelion rosettes Dandelion Appreciation Society with much hope for next spring. Let it come quickly!

Second addition of the year to the Hodgkin windowsill ladyslipper hareem flowers. A hybrid Paphiopedilum that never seems to provide large flowers brightening up this side of the great pothole. Orchiholism
