A nice essay by Charles Piller. This behavior is beyond unacceptable. As a field we have to do better. #alzheimers tinyurl.com/55zme6ns

Academia can be hard. Getting to see former colleagues from Beckman Institute at Illinois in Dallas Center for Vital Longevity reminded me of the best parts of science.

..and another one! 🤩 Join us for a great webinar in cooperation with the Neuromodulatory Subcortical Systems PIA on studying neuromodulatory subcortical nuclei with multimodal MRI! When someone with autosomal dominant AD beats the odds it is a time to celebrate. I'm captivated that tau pathology is contained in left occipital cortex, consistent with work from Yakeel T. Quiroz, PhD (she/her) . #Alzheimers Link to article below and also NPR story tinyurl.com/resistantADAD

The technical work that goes into assay development can often get overlooked and Kanta Horie isn't someone who often brags about himself. He, and others on his team, have done a tremendous job of developing MTBR-tau243 assays, first in CSF and now in plasma.

It is a particularly competitive year for U.S. National Science Foundation graduate research fellowships with half as many being awarded as normal. Huge congratulations to my students Taylor Pedersen who got a NSF and Carling Robinson (She/her) who got an honorable mention. WashU WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology

I can think of fewer individuals I've worked with who are as great of scientists and genuinely nice human beings as Jason Hassenstab jhassenstab.bsky.social . This is well deserved. Congratulations Jason!

🚨Calling all neuroimagers! Help Emma Coomans shape the opening plenary at #AIC2025 (Toronto, July 26th) "Accomplishments of the Past Year" and share the most impactful neuroimaging research from the past year via this brief survey (~5min) by May 30th. act.alz.org/site/R?i=eOejF…

Congratulations Taylor Pedersen

Being on the Neuroimaging PIA for the last two years has been a fantastic experience. The PIAs are at the heart of what makes the Alzheimer's Association great. Please take a couple minutes to make your voices heard and vote for the next group of amazing researchers.
