Brewery 1435: Springfield Brewing Company. Springfield, MO. Fav beer: Brown Porter. Established in 1997, this beautiful brick building that dates back to 1910 has been a staple of downtown for many years! The interior is both beautiful and expansive, and my whole family enjoyed our lunch!

Brewery 1436: Blue Jay Brewing. St. Louis, MO. Fav beer: New Roots (American Lager w/Kernza). What an excellent stop! Specializing in lagers, this spot in Midtown opened in 2023. You wander through the brewery to get to the taproom, and there is a nice shared beer garden as well!

Brewery 1437: Fiala Brothers Brewing. Normal, IL. Fav beer: Hey Strata, Strata, Strata (Pale Ale). Located in Uptown Normal, they opened up inside the former Bill's Key & Lock in 2022. The two-story space serves up a large tap list, and the upper balcony looks down on the street

Brewery 1438: DESTIHL Brewery. Normal, IL. Fav beer: Roots Lager (Helles Lager). Established in 2007, they now have an expansive footprint on the edge of town. Situated on six acres, the 120-barrel brew house and massive beer hall is very impressive #ILbeer

Brewery 1439: Paw Paw Brewing Co.. Paw Paw, MI. Fav beer: Ollie's Pale Ale. Opened in 2010, they would move to this larger facility (a former canning factory) in 2019. Besides the beer, they have a large food menu, a game room, a big gift shop, and a dog-friendly patio #MIbeer

Brewery 1440: Florian East Lagers & Ales. Hamtramck, MI. Fav beer: Garnet Lager (Czech Amber). Opened Labor Day weekend last year, they're in a former shoe store and are making great beer! The interior mixes rugged exposed brick/old false flower walls, and a bright/crisp vibe

Brewery 1441: Roar Brewing. Detroit, MI. Fav beer: Raspberry Wheat. Detroit's first black-owned brewery just opened earlier this year, and the large outdoor space that is part of a huge courtyard flows effortlessly into the taproom. Lots of Detroit sports signs inside too #MIbeer

Brewery 1442: Six Spoke Brewing Co. Detroit, MI. Fav beer: Corktown Kolsch. Wow! Just opened in August, this spot is already cranking out delicious beer inside a wonderful taproom! It previously was a donut factory, and the brewing equipment wraps around the walls under the exposed beams

Time for an update! A couple changes to my Top 10 list of states I've visited the most breweries in. Colorado moves ahead of Florida to #6, and Iowa hops above Texas into 8th. It may still be just a bit, but I'd keep my eye on Illinois moving into the Top 3 at some point too.

Brewery 1443: Brewery Faisan Detroit, MI. Fav beer: So It Gose (Gose w/pineapple). Located Islandview, they opened in 2019 in an old warehouse. "Faisan" translates to "pheasant" in French, and the name came from the local birds that roam the surrounding urban prairie. Great beer!

Brewery 1445: Someday Brewing Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. Fav beer: Morning Cab Ride (Breakfast Stout w/coffee & maple syrup). "Are you ever going to open a brewery?" "Maybe someday." That often-asked question eventually led to this spot opening up in April '23 inside a former pharmacy

Brewery 1446: BatchBrewingCompany. Detroit, MI. Fav beer: German Pilsner. Celebrating their 10-year anniversary earlier this year, this Corktown spot has been a Detroit staple for over a decade. Walking up you can see part of the skyline, and they have a large outdoor space

Brewery 1447: Ferndale Project. Ferndale, MI. Fav beer: Mixed Berry (Sour). This bright, colorful venue is an offshoot of Eastern Market Brewing, and has been known for its experimental beers since it opened in 2020 #MIbeer

Every year when these lists come out from Craft Beer & Brewing I love to see how many I've been to, and what places I still need to try to visit. Last year I was 55/80, so it looks like I still have plenty of work to do! 🍻
