Celtics trading Georges Niang does a few things for them: 1) Creates an $8.2M TPE 2) Moves them about $1.8M over the first apron 3) Now $10.1M from the second apron This was a cap trade for the Celtics to inch closer to moving out of the first apron completely.

Some added details here: Teams are just genuinely interested in seeing how Pat Riley does business with Tyler Herro after the Jimmy Butler situation. A decision to extend Herro and the timing of it will help dictate what moves the Heat make during the 25-26 season.

Because the longer Kuminga waits, the more his value declines. It's a mental game. Taking the QO would be a terrible decision, as it never works well for RFAs wanting to be paid. He could take the QO, but as we've reported a few times now, it seems more like a bluff.

The Celtics-Jazz trade involving Georges Niang and two second-round picks for RJ Luis Jr. (two-way contract) is complete. Utah will receive picks in 2027 and 2031 from Boston. Both picks are the more favorable of certain selections in their respective years.
