As an early-stage investor, a trap is to tell founders what to do. But founders have to make the call in face of imperfect information, so the best an investor can do is “guide” the founder to what’s best for them. Guidance is more valuable than advice.

Interestingly, I have found that in Sunflower -I have spent significantly less time on my email, have received less notifications, and as a result, have been less stressed on my email. Less is more.

I used to feel guilty not responding to inbound investor/banker emails. Now that 99% are obviously AI-generated, I — feel — a lot — less — bad.

Founders: I don’t care how urgent your startup problems are or how busy you are. Go to the doctor for an annual check up. If you can find an hour to go do happy hour with your team, you can find an hour to see a PCP. Please, take care of your health.
