I know everyone loves to complain about how slow the court processes are in Ontario, but the Toronto urgent motion procedure works extremely well for truly urgent matters (Marevas, etc.). If lawyers are going to complain, we have to give credit where it is due, too!

As the 2L summer students start entering law firm offices for their summer employment, I've decided to re-post this reminder: You’re not doing a bad job. You are simply learning how to do something that you don’t know how to do, and that is often a very hard task.

It’s sad to see how many students apologize to me when I return their first project with a bunch of comments for improvements and requests for further information. Don’t apologize for learning.
