Remember when Comcast was like, “We’re XFinity now.” And everyone was like, “Stop it, Comcast you can’t just throw an ‘X’ on something old to make it new. We’re going to keep calling you Comcast.” Crazy to see that happen twice in one lifetime…

As an incarcerated writer it has been a difficult 27 yrs of trying to get stories published. Then comes Empowerment Avenue. Their support is amazing. They hooked me up with a writing mentor, Brandon Arvesen who has taken me on a wonderful writing journey. HOPES ALIVE!

“Many of the opening pages of ‘Fixer’ feel like Bartlebian dispatches from the front lines of the gig economy. The narrator of these poems bounces from one side hustle to another, each more absurd than the last.” Jeff Gordinier reviews Edgar Kunz’s poetry. nyti.ms/3R1tDlS

I was excited to hear that prison visitation is resuming. Then I realized I did not have anyone to visit me. Not a “woe is me attitude,” but a realization that I have outlived all those who care about me in nearly 3 decades of captivity.

I have great empathy for the prison guards - most of us insiders do. They are as dehumanized by administration as the inmates. Forced to often work 16 hrs a day or be fired, no backup, talked to disrespectfully, tired & frustrated at what they see, but signed an NDA to keep quiet

If the community wants inmates to become good organic men and women who are capable of living in the free human fields of life again, it must start with believing that all people, even those incarcerated, are due HUMANE treatment.
