A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for parts of Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Hall, Lumpkin, Union, Towns, and White Counties. More than 2 inches of rain has fallen in the last 3 hours and an additional 1-2 inches is possible. I'll be tracking the storms live on WSB Tonight.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Butts, Clayton, Henry and Spalding County until 11:15pm.

The Atlas V rocket launch from Cape Canaveral may be visible for us this evening. The launch is scheduled for 7pm and would visible here about 5 minutes later. The launch window is open until 9pm.

This spring severe weather season has been rough with multiple tornadoes. Severe weather season lasts through May, but we're passing the climatological peak after April.

Storms have developed in NE Alabama and are moving into Georgia with the threat for strong wind gusts and hail. I'm tracking this live on Channel 2.

The annual burn ban is now in effect. This is issued for air quality concerns during our warmest months. No burning of yard debris, but campfires and grills are fine.

May is a transition month for us. We move past the peak of the spring severe weather season and toward more summer like temperatures. This is also the second driest month on average.

Some significant wind damage from the storms that moved through Floyd County this evening. This was from straight line (downburst) wind gusts.
