A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for parts of Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Hall, Lumpkin, Union, Towns, and White Counties. More than 2 inches of rain has fallen in the last 3 hours and an additional 1-2 inches is possible. I'll be tracking the storms live on WSB Tonight.

The annual burn ban is now in effect. This is issued for air quality concerns during our warmest months. No burning of yard debris, but campfires and grills are fine.

May is a transition month for us. We move past the peak of the spring severe weather season and toward more summer like temperatures. This is also the second driest month on average.

Severe storms are possible this evening across our area. The greatest threat is for damaging wind gusts in NW Georgia, some strong storms may make it into the metro area. I'll be tracking the storms live on Channel 2.
