Struggling to transition from HS to college is often discussed in terms of training. But the biggest factor is the change in motivation. To succeed in college you need to be more driven from within. In HS, external motivators (coach/parent, friends, etc.) are easier.

One thing I've noticed The athletes that make the most progress in 4 years are the ones who commit to training hard over the summer and breaks It's not sets, reps, exercises variations, or methods It's consistency and commitment to training That's the secret

As women’s soccer undergoes a historic shift toward gender equity, elite girls’ soccer is still largely controlled by men. The results, women say, are toxic for coaches and players alike. wapo.st/3gibIHA

Did you know that most D1 programs, although eliminated from playoffs since Nov. 7th, were/are still practicing, lifting, & conditioning until the week of college exam finals? While a lot of D2’s, D3’s, NAIA’s & Juco’s were off/had breaks. Be careful what you wish for. #CSTruth

Parents, If you have to force your kids to go to practice, or to workout on their own, then it’s probably not in the cards for them to play in college. It’s ok, but it’s time to have real expectations and give up YOUR dream of them being a college athlete. #CSTruth

The difference between players I’ve been around that are power 5 and D2 has nothing to do with ability or technique. They can all take the same touch. They all make the same pass. They all finish the same upper 90 shot. It’s confidence. It’s self belief. It’s being an alpha.
