One of the most important things I learnt from Chris Boardman CBE last night was that infrastructure built to national standards increases active travel by 20-60% and halves deaths; 'painted lines' increase deaths by 10% and don't increase active travel at all.
Come on Hackney Council - we are better than this. It’s time to take a deep breath & have a look at this alternative design.
