Seattle’s Sound Transit stations have created thousands of new housing units. IBR plans freeway Park & Ride stations that will be ugly, noisy, and not attract housing or pedestrian traffic. Parking will increase damaging commuter traffic to downtown Vancouver and increase VMT.

A 2,700-foot I-5 Immersed Tunnel can be built in half the time of IBR’s Bridge. Uminomori Tunnel, Tokyo Port 2020 is Japan’s 29th earthquake resilient immersed tunnel. It was built rapidly for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by using four fabricators for sandwich steel-concrete segments.

IBR Exaggeration? After examining seismic risk maps of WSDOT and the WA Dept. of Natural Resources, the IBR has reduced its estimated threat of an I-5 Bridge collapse. The IBR now claims a "Godzilla" threat to justify a new bridge and $250 million demolition of existing bridges.

IBR is using poorly designed bridge example to scare & mislead the public. Bandai Bridge, icon of Niigata, survived the 1964 Niigata Earthquake by learning from the Great Kanto Earthquake. Poorly designed Showa Bridge was completed and collapsed in 1964.
