It was an honor to review Houellebecq's Annihilation. Filled with ruthlessly penetrating insights, his final novel delivers the best of the realist tradition ("take things as they are, not as you would wish them to be"), even as his efforts at tender uplift open out into a void.

Reading for our second issue is now well underway, and it's filling up. Though we'll keep accepting subs for future issues after that happens, now's the best time to get in for what shall be a marvelous Christmas edition!
