Rabi Nakayama, Hira Hira (Polydor, 1972), second full-length LP by the so-called "Japanese Bob Dylan" whom she & her music sounds nothing like to these ears but that's neither here nor there, this is a terrific album & inexpensive on Discogs (or free no doubt on the Tubes of You)

I miss the innocence of the early blogging days. No trying to monetize your audience. No algorithms. No funnel talk. It was fun and playful. People were genuinely excited to share their weird obsessions and interests. I will forever try to recreate that corner of the internet.

The heartbreaking rhyming logic of American kids and Palestinian kids dying in their schools because our leaders will not support a basic arms embargo

I had completely forgotten about this letter I co-wrote to Kenneth Koch three decades ago offering him $1,000,000 for “some poems.”

This evening I found a sealed copy of a 55-year-old OG pressing of Art Ensemble of Chicago's People in Sorrow (Nessa, 1969) am listening to it for the first time and am even more convinced they're my favorite jazz group of all time this piece is transcendent

Felt like a jerk this weekend hearing the words "Greek records flow like water in my neighborhood" coming out my braggy mouth in a used Brooklyn record store but later that same day found 2 dozen more Greek LPs at my local thrift store for $1.50 each & now I feel like a reporter?

I've got all The Fall albums from the 70s into the 90s on CD but found this one and Grotesque on vinyl a few weekends ago & picked both up. Most would cite Hex or This Nation's as their #1 but I'm leaning toward this one (The Wonderful and Frightening World of The Fall, PVC, 1984

Loved these guys while working at Tower Records in San Francisco in the late 1980s but haven't heard them in a while. Mr. Damon K 🎤's posts about this one prompted monster FOMO so when it showed up at Pancakes here in Astoria tonight, I picked it up. It's freaking amazing!

This incredible Lebanese LP arrived at my door last week; giving it a first listen now. The latest Israeli act of terrorism sickens & the American media's complete inability to see it as the rest of the world sees it's infuriating. Stop funding genocide & terrorism in our name
