I truly enjoyed attending The Hidden Genius Project Atlanta site visit today in South Atlanta! The mission of The Hidden Genius Project is to train and mentor Black male youth in technology creation, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills to transform their lives & communities.

I had the pleasure of seeing Dominic Steward & his mother at the 2024 LUMM Scholarship Gala. He was one of our scholarship recipients last night. Dominic will be graduating from Westlake High School in South Fulton this month and will be attending Tulane University in the fall!

Today is the 1st day of early voting in Georgia! My fellow Mercer Law School alumni, Judge Tabitha Ponder, who is a native of Moultrie, GA, is running for the Georgia Court of Appeals. Judge Ponder is currently a part-time magistrate judge in Cobb County & a successful mediator.

I was honored to be a guest speaker yesterday evening for the 1st Annual Bryan County Democratic Committee Dinner. Thank you, BCDC Chair Keith McCants, BCDC Executive Committee Member Marcus Thompson, and the entire BCDC for the opportunity to participate in an amazing event.

An amazing community event was hosted today by Clayton City. School Board Member Sabrina Hill! The annual conference, in partnership with several community groups, engaged participants in sessions covering topics such as home ownership, early learning, & adult education programs.

My prayers go out to Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson and his family. I know Bruce will vigorously fight cancer and win. #BattleWithBruce

Mentors are so important for life skills and the career development of a mentee. Professor Tony Baldwin (l) & Judge Willie Louis Sands (r) encouraged me to climb higher, to go farther, & to work harder to achieve my goals while at Mercer Law School. Thank you for your mentorship!

Today is AHMAUD ARBERY DAY in Georgia. One of my proudest moments as a member of the Georgia General Assembly was being one of the lead cosponsors & coauthors of House Bill 479, which repealed the citizen's arrest statute in GA back in 2021. #RunWithMaud

I enjoyed attending the kickoff for the Genesis Academy. The academy was created by fellow Valdosta State U. Alum, Macon Judical Circuit DA Anita Howard. Genesis Academy is a pretrial diversion program for nonviolent offenders that provides job training & wrap-around services.

Today, we celebrate the birthday and life of Rev. Dr. Luther King, Jr. He was a true servant leader who was steadfast in his fight for Civil Rights, Voting Rights for African-Americans, & being of service to those who needed it the most. May Dr. King's Dream live on. #MLKDay2024
