Austin Cindric finished 10th at Atlanta but earned 46 points thanks to 19 stage points. So he seemed pleased but not ecstatic. He sits 27 points above the cutline.

William Byron left Atlanta with a ninth-place finish and a 33-point cushion on the cutline. So it was a decent day.

Alex Bowman opened the playoffs with a fifth-place finish and a huge leap from being on the playoff cutline to 27 points ahead.
