Irish research on the big stage again at #EUGA2022. OAB is a tricky disease to treat and has huge impact on women's lives. Multicentre use of the #RiSolve app showed some good reduction in women's symptoms in this pilot study and has promise for the future. Fadi Salameh

While I'm always glad to see some work from my time in The National Maternity Hospital with Declan Keane published, this one highlights an issue facing us all. 1 in 11 diagnosed with a 3a/b OASI actually had a 3c injury. Training and vigilance is needed. Thanks to UCD Library for the open access.

Fantastic study, if a little depressing. Only 2/3 of SpRs able to do an ectopic (lap salpingectomy), bigger procedures even worse. Anecdotally at least, this is mirrored across the Irish sea. Not exactly sure how we fix this though. Well done Daniel et al.!

Great to see this case report of an unusual sphincter injury from my time The Rotunda Hospital with Fadi Salameh. Good physical examination remains the key diagnostic tool for obstetricians in order to avoid a potentially catastrophic undiagnosed OASI. casereports.bmj.com/content/16/10/…

Humbled—and feeling like an imposter—after being invited to this post, and looking forward to continuing the excellent work of the BMC Series journals.

I know I don't have much reach here but I'd plead with anyone who is eligible to go and #GiveBlood with Giveblood. I gave my 43rd donation last night in Cork. If you were in an accident, you'd expect blood to be available, this is where it comes from. Go give if you can.

I don't post much here but I would beg anyone who is eligible to go Giveblood wherever they can. If you bled tomorrow, you'd expect blood to be there. This is where it comes from. Great experience (and Club Orange) with donation #44 this evening in Cork.

Back at #EUGA2024 with the Linda Cardozo lecture from Prof. Barry O'Reilly on the Promise of Robotics in Urogynaecology. Bit cold in Prague, but looks like a great conference

This is an interesting project and it's always difficult to get responses to your research, so please take a few minutes and answer this if you can.

Delighted to have another Giveblood donation done and issued. #45 so far. I would beg anyone who can to go and give blood. If you ever needed a transfusion, this is where it comes from.

This is pretty much all I post these days, but here we go again—donation 46! Lovely evening in Perrystown to donate. Anyone who can, should. All the best to whoever gets mine. #GiveBlood

I really enjoyed my GP placement in Bunbeg as a med student, so I'm delighted my blood is being put to good use in Donegal. When you prescribe a unit, it comes from people like me on a Thursday night in some GAA hall, please #GiveBlood if you can.
