State House Candidate Pete Grabiel, EliforPortland, Mike DiNapoli, and I have created a fund to help repair the damage to the PSU Library. We support free speech and peaceful protest, but not wanton damage to property.

If you agree, please consider a donation.

So for everyone who thought Portland Street Response was truly fully funded, did Mayor Ted Wheeler pull a fast one? The $3.7 million for the 6 new deputy city administrators and their $209,000 per person severance pay would have more than covered the gap. Just sayin’! Friends of Portland Street Response

There were bright spots at the Farmer's Market, especially the vendors and customers who showed up to support them despite the inconvenience of some being relocated away from the library block. I had my obligatory roti from my friends Elise and David at Roam.

Went to the PSU Farmers Market this AM. Sad to see a public building like the library shuttered as crews begin the cleanup and eventual repair. Hope Multnomah County DA's Office and PSU hold all involved responsible- including for the repair costs. Peaceful protests- yes. This- no.

Video of the officers breaking through a barricaded door to the 1st floor. You can hear them warning about a 'slick floor.' They encountered soap or some other slippery substance on the floor that was likely intended to cause police to slip and fall.

For those who watched the press conference by Chair Vega Pederson and are still wondering what happened as a result of the 90-day fentanyl emergency declaration, the end results seem to boil down to:

City, county, and state governments collaborated;

A dashboard was created;

Vasquez holds a significant edge because the sizable share of voters who say crime and drug use are the most pressing issues facing the Portland area overwhelmingly favor the longtime Multnomah County prosecutor, the poll found.
