We're on track for very cold air to move in next week. I'm watching for possible wintry weather, too. It looks like the right pattern is setting up for the Southeast in about a week, but a lot of ingredients have to come together. I'll be tracking the system live on Channel 2.

After rain Saturday, arctic air moves in for several days. Days below freezing, even for afternoon highs will be highly impactful with frozen pipes and broken water mains likely. Prepare to protect people, pets, pipes, and plants. I'm tracking the latest live on Channel 2.

I have declared a State of Emergency ahead of the severe weather headed our way. This storm will hit at the worst possible time, as people are heading to or already in bed. Be prepared ahead of time and remain weather aware as long as this system is in the state.
