A lot of American politics has just become a sadistic game of deciding which group of people you want to see suffer. It is soul-killing stuff.

In Germany, a Jewish activist is arrested and charged with public incitement for supposedly "glorifying the Holocaust". What did he actually do? He carried a sign reading "Jews against genocide". His father's entire family was murdered at Auschwitz.

Stranger than that: He suggested that tougher restrictions on immigrants could make many “self-deport” and this was seen as a costly gaffe. Even stranger: Guess who said Romney lost votes bc of that policy. politico.com/story/2012/11/…

Kind of pathetic to watch this fantasy over & over of apeing the appeal of socialist politicians, simulating some generic "message" they have, without any of the actual policies they run on. This has not worked in the 10 years it's been tried.

People aren't stupid, and outside of the hardcore fanatics that every president tends to draw, everyone can see exactly what has happened with the Epstein files and why.

The trouble for the Stop Mamdani crowd is that both Adams & Cuomo are driven purely by their own personal craving for power (as well as avoiding prison), not by some higher ideological cause. Makes it very difficult to convince either to drop out.
