Hornets get a big 3-2 bounce back, extra inning win at Morton. Alstat tossed 6.2 solid inn, but Teagan McLaughlin picks up the W in extras. Offensively, Andrew Zimmerman with 2 hits & 2 RBI & John Martin with what proved to be the game winning RBI in T9. Overall record now 27-3.

Today’s Domingo Award goes to senior Cohen Alstat. Co was terrific on the mound, going 6.2 inn, allowing 2 runs and walking just 1.

Hornets claim the Chillicothe Sectional title with a 3-0 win over IVC. Tanner Wiegand was brilliant on the bump, tossing a complete game, allowing just 3 hits & 3 Ks. Offense with a big boost from senior Cooper Peterson going 2-2 with a RBI. Andrew Zimmerman with 2 RBI.

Hornets advance to the Geneseo Super-Sectional and will play Wilmington on Monday night at 6pm.

The Eureka Hornets are 2A Super-Sectional Champions after shutting out Wilmington 4-0. Cohen Alstat was dominant on the mound with 7 strikeouts, and Mason Stoller drove in 3 RBIs. Hornets will play the winner of Monticello/SHG on Friday at U of I.

Hornets get a surprise state send off this morning from former Hornet and 2016 World Series MVP Ben Zobrist this morning.

Hornets drop a tough one 6-5 in the 2A semifinal to Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin. Will play for 3rd place tomorrow at 4pm at Illinois Field.

Hornets wrap up the season with season with a 9-3 win over Newman Comets Baseball and finish in 3rd place finish in the IHSA State 2A Finals.
