As you heal, may you realize the habits that protected you and took the shape of your armor may be placed down as you rest and your battle subsides.

It’s easy to get caught up in the act of striving for greatness, in becoming what you never experienced, of proving yourself right, but a gentle reminder, you gotta remember to come up for air.

Looking back now, I can’t imagine the life I would live if I had received every “yes” I thought was for me or that I felt I deserved.

A gentle reminder that you have to teach people how to treat you.

Kamala becoming the first Black female president was so much larger than a dream, it was an opportunity the materialize the life Black mothers continuously pour in their daughters that they can do and be anything. America you failed them, again.

Take your time, there’s so much to mourn.

America failed itself. You did not fail you.
