Howdy folks, As the most of the data and tools used by the office are currently no longer available, services provided by the Texas State Climate Office will be drastically impacted to discontinued due to the laps of federal funding for the NOAA Regional Climate Centers.

The 2026 budget passback plan calls for eliminating NOAA Research, the scientific backbone that keeps weather forecasts, alerts, and warnings accurate and effective. This would have disastrous consequences. Read the AMS statement, in partnership w/National Weather Association: bit.ly/4cz2RtC

Update: The National Weather Service’s contract to produce common language translations for National Weather Service products has been reinstated. Translation capabilities are expected to be operational on or before the end of the day on Monday, April 28. weather.gov @noaa
