If you have an interest in biophilic design in #library buildings the blog post cited below should be a good read. It explores the connection between our #GreenRoof and whether it can attract students to nearby study spaces.

Does the university community think it was worth losing their fairly new president over a plan to convert to a digital library? Well, there's probably more to it than that...presidents have done a lot worse and stayed on. vtdigger.org/2023/04/14/ver…

Great article on the "money-saving power" of a library card from The Wall Street Journal - but you'll need to get yourself to a #library if you want to read this paywalled article. No doubt the WSJ readership will rush out to libraries so they can get access to Libby. wsj.com/articles/the-m…

Filling out my IHE's campus development survey. Kind of interesting that they want you to identify where "heart of the campus" is on the supplied campus map. Come on...we all know where the heart of the campus is - right (we'll see what the survey results have to say about that)

Students number one go-to for textbooks continues to be "find a free version" - but how many include access to a #library ebook in their definition of "free". It may have one flat price for all but that's equal - not equitable - nor affordable to all #oer insidehighered.com/news/student-s…

Sure, it's just a paid advertisement, but I'd really like to see a qualified math instructor who teaches a similar course with #OER and appropriate open ancillary content leave a comment to this: bit.ly/3MT17yP

I've been watching these birds that made their nest behind the wall of #CharlesLibrary and today I finally saw them feeding the chicks. These birds have made the building a part of their urban habitat.

Wow. Talk about a renewable, open pedagogy assignment where future classes continue the work of prior students. I'm guessing the instructor didn't plan it that way... but it seems to stand as a good, if not reproducible, example. nytimes.com/2023/07/11/aut…

Important findings in this study about the relationship between awareness of support services and student success. Too few students report awareness of library support. Collaborating with academic advisers and student success coaches may be one solution. bit.ly/44zYKJ4

This sounds about right for MPOW. Probably even fewer full remote and that's just in the IT area. We've been supporting WFH and hybrid work since before the pandemic. This appears to be the path going forward. chronicle.com/article/higher…

Kudos to Amanda Hovious for sharing the ways in which blended librarianship impacted ACRL standards for instruction proficiency. The BL online learning community was the first to offer free regular webcasts educating librarians about instruction design #infolit newprairiepress.org/cgi/viewconten…

At least the new SEPTA_SOCIAL app isn't asking me if I want to download a new schedule every time I use it...that did drive me crazy. I'm hoping in time I will find some other positives about the new app.
