Another cool anvil paper, this one by Will Jones et al. The radiative impact of deep convective system may on average be close to neutral, but that's definitely not the case for single systems! Wondering whether anything changes in a warmer climate.

Eine Besonderheit der nächtlichen Gewitter in Wien waren die vielen Wolke-Wolke Blitze, hier in grün dargestellt. Die roten + und - zeigen die Einschläge in den Boden, zwischen 2 und 3 Uhr. Im 20 km Umkreis von Wien gab es nur 142 Blitzeinschläge, zugleich 1575 WW-Blitze. Also..
