Been a blast playing sports with my son lately. The BIG thing I've learned that has helped his enjoyment a ton, is to not give ANY advice or instruction. Doesn't matter if some tips might help a lot, it's much better to keep my mouth shut and let him figure it out.

The crazy thing about a good coach is that the players will love you and hate you in 15-30 minute intervals. Some think they want it easy...but easy is never respected. The good one's are masters at understanding and executing this.

Never lower the bar to accommodate selfish people in your program. They'll either rise to your level of expectation or leave. Either way you win.

The top HS runner in your town, area, state would likely respond positively to any type of training routine. Show me the school with a steamrolling JV and I'll stop and watch, listen, & take note.

Why do some sports parents sit alone? - No Drama - No Complaining - They do not like Hearing Ignorance. - No Badmouthing Coaches & Officials. - They often just want to relax & Enjoy the Game! Be a part of the solution. Not the problem.
