More phacelia, also red and white clover, chicory and grass in there. After years of veg cropping it’s fertility building time!

It’s peak midge, on Skye last week end they were covering the van windscreen, then the wiper mashed them and another wave came. Didn’t get out.

It’s not all veg here, there’s 28 ewes too, here grazing down an area of fertility building pasture. In a few years this area will be back into veg growing.

This 4 acre reseed had forage rape then overwinter rye & finally oats/peas arable silage undersown with herbal ley in June, just before months of no rain. Pics show difference between normally wet & dry areas.

Sowing & planting season 2025 is well underway with radish & pakchoi planted, beds of rocket & salads sown & lots of over wintered salads being harvested (all in the tunnels, it is the north of Scotland after all!).
