Period where?
The third season finale of “Abbott Elementary” gave Janine and Gregory’s buildup a most sensuous finish. (yes, still on a high after last night’s episode).

The first Dayton Black Women’s Film Festival highlights included an outdoor social mixer, fourteen wonderful short films on the big screen, and the Bloom Award presentation to filmmaker Aisha Ford— the gorgeous statue created by artist Elizabeth Diggs.

Today years old in noticing the heart between Su Li-zhen’s head and arm. It adds another angsty layer alongside Mr. Chow being in the mirror. 💜
Anyway— places where Maggie Cheung films are streaming right now including “In the Mood for Love” (2000).

I made a beautiful vegan broccoli waffle with a cheddar just egg. Unfortunately, when I removed the waffle, a part collapsed on my left hand. It felt as though every last nerve was being burned alive. What unbelievable pain!
It’s healing better now though— bubbled and all.

Up on philly artblog, my review of Igiaba Scego’s richly written “The Color Line” novel. The heavy, sensitive tale—set in two Italian time periods— centers a 19th century Black woman painter and a contemporary Black woman curator. Thank you, Other Press.

Rest in power to my great uncle, Tommy. A wonderful person who was a phenomenal secondary force in my life. I’m not sure what the future holds without him.

Shot by Charles Burnett with continuity by Julie Dash, Alile Sharon Larkin’s 1982 film, “A Different Image” still correlates heavy today. Women’s bodies remain objectified and certain friendships continue to have a false sense of safety and care.

For those of us who are writers and readers, I noticed that a lot of folks aren't familiar with the rich canon of Palestinian literature and don't know where to begin reading. In response to this, down below is a thread of novels, non-fiction, and poetry about Palestine (🧵):
