This week in London, #Mission300 brings public & private sector leaders together to unlock energy investment in Africa. Reaching 300M by 2030 will take strong partnerships. And British International Investment CEO Leslie Maasdorp shares exactly how. Full interview: youtu.be/dbgS6YgbtIg

Helping young people in Bhutan build careers at home is both a challenge and an opportunity. The country needs their talent—and a strong private sector to harness it. Glad to discuss this central element of our partnership with Tshering Tobgay. wrld.bg/qXnc50VY1HI

Updating our global poverty lines to reflect changing living costs helps us better track progress to #EndPoverty. My colleagues Luis Felipe López-Calva, Haishan Fu & Deon Filmer explain why such adjustments are critical to success. wrld.bg/PCqC50W6ChA

Happy to be in Europe to connect with our long-standing World Bank partners in Austria, Sweden & Norway. I look forward to further strengthening our collaboration for the people we serve.

A pleasure to spend time at our Vienna office which, like the rest of the World Bank Group, is evolving to meet new development challenges & opportunities—with great support from the government and people of Austria. And always special to have a moment with our Ukraine team.

Good to meet Minister Markus Marterbauer for the first time and to reaffirm our appreciation to Austria for its strong support to the World Bank Group and the lowest-income countries through its leadership in supporting IDA - World Bank.

Always good to be back in Oslo! I appreciated a day with Norway MFA and with Minister Åsmund Grøver Aukrust, Klima- og miljødep & Norad on growth and jobs in developing countries, and the need for ambition, speed, scale & continued support for countries in fragile and conflict settings.

Great to be with our Swedish partners—Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Sida, Swedfund & Ministry of Finance—to thank them for their vital role in raising ambition on development outcomes. Delivering lasting impact at the country level takes strong partnerships like the one we have with Sweden.

Very good to engage with Swedish civil society at the invitation of Minister Diana Janse. My message to them: creating jobs through growth, reforms, sound macroeconomic management & private capital will take us further. We’re committed to doubling down on this agenda.

The World Bank’s #Mission300 initiative is closing the energy gap, bringing real electricity to 300 million people in Africa by 2030.
