Roxy Coss knows that everyone has two very different sides of the ego. One that says, “I’m not good enough, I have to get better” and another side that says, “I’m great, I’m worth listening to.” It’s just one of the many “Disparate Parts” that make us human.

Some people think that coming out is a one-and-done process: you tell everyone and then it’s over. Bryan Carter says that couldn’t be farther from the truth. It’s gradually telling more and more people. Hearing congratulations from some people - awkward silence from others.

At a Frank Zappa party, each person was given a different musical instrument. There were probably 300 people in attendance - so you can only imagine the level of noise in the room. But in spite of the confusion, Les McCann heard beautiful music. Tune in to learn more!

The goddess of love, beauty, and femininity. But also the goddess of war and ambition. A multi-faceted personality — simultaneously passionate and poised. Are we talking about Inana, Aphrodite, Venus… Or pianist Connie Han? bitesizejazz.com/connie-han-sec…

Simeon Davis's music doesn’t just tell a story — the band members become actors. In his hands, a band becomes a boat rocking across the ocean, a keyboard takes on the voice of God, and a guitar whispers the beguilings of the devil. bitesizejazz.com/simeon-davis-o…

When Simeon was studying music, he realized that he didn’t want to just be a player - he wanted to be a composer. In order to do that, he needed to find something unique to offer. He asked himself, “What would I want to listen to?” The answer: Of Narratives & Nocturnes.

“The Calling” is a dreamy tune featuring an intimate setting of voice and piano. Rowan’s poetry-inspired lyrics are a perfect pairing for the playing of Deschanel Gordon (BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020). Together they help us break free from the constraints of everyday life.
