Thanksgiving greetings from Bishop-elect Byrne

Advent is a season to get ready for Christmas. Don’t put Jesus in the NICU by starting Christmas early! Let him go full term by journeying with me in prayer for the next four weeks. Sing O Come, O Come Emanuel.

I am beginning my retreat today in preparation for my ordination and installation as the 10th Bishop of Springfield. Pray for me that I may be a good and holy shepherd.

“Our Lady of Guadalupe is the celebration of Mary bringing her son to the Americas. Her image, preserved on St. Diego tilma bears witness to her apparition. She reminds we are brothers and sisters and we are to bring Jesus to our neighbors, especially those new to this land.”
