What a night! It was a joy to gather with Professor Beckford’s family, many friends, students (past and present) and colleagues to honour his extraordinary contribution as a scholar-activist in theology, culture, and social justice.

Day 1 Nicaea 1700 ecumenical West Midlands pilgrimage. After prayers at the Shrine of St Chad, Lichfield Cathedral, regional church leaders and others strode forth. 3 days of walking, praying, building friendships as we mark the first Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

Fabulous to share in a special service Lichfield Cathedral in the thirtieth year since the first women were ordained priest in Lichfield Diocese . Dean, +Jan McFarlane, presided, and +Sarah Bullock preached - both among the first women ordained priest in 1994.

Honour to be invited by the Governor of Edinburgh Castle to dinner, a performance of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and to accompany the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland taking the salute. Reminded of and inspired by the work of Army Chaplains.
