Ring-necked duck near Torphichen. Each year, it appears somewhere in West Lothian after hard weather so I took a punt on today being the day. I’d love to know where it goes after the thaw. Birding Lothian

Other than a snowy backdrop, this (always quite distant) Grey Phalarope was the only evidence of Storm Bert’s passing at Musselburgh this afternoon. Birding Lothian

Great to find this White-rumped Sandpiper feeding among the wrack on Whitesands beach, E Lothian this afternoon. A lovely, active wader. Fortunately I managed some record shots through my scope, though with a decent camera would've got some nice rump flight shots! Birding Lothian
