Who would have thought BRX mutants and transgenics will make it to the museum one day? Display at the exposition “Artificiel” of the « Musée de la nature » in Sion: musees-valais.ch/musee-de-la-na…

Other samples contributed by our lab for this exposition on the grey zone between the natural and the artificial in living beings: teosinte and landrace corn (thank you @rellanalvarez!), and the DelRos tomatoes from Cathy Martin’s work at the John Innes Centre.

Out now: here we propose that developing protophloem sieve elements eventually escape autocrine inhibition of their transition towards differentiation by the CLE45 peptide through alkalinization of their apoplast. cell.com/current-biolog…

Here’s our latest study, led by Qian Wang & Ana Cecilia Aliaga Fandino/ Chechu/ 3시! The key finding: we reveal antagonism between CLE peptide signaling and phosphoinositide kinases >>> they struggle for control over the #polarity and activity of a polar #auxin transport regulator. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Many thanks to our collaborators Tom DeFalco and Cyril Zipfel at University of Zurich! We also appreciate the constructive comments from the reviewers [who noted that our cell biological story starts to look rather complicated… (we agree)… 🙃]

Other aspects: • a direct demonstration that protophloem formation requires polar #auxin transport • PIP5K likely also has a scaffold function • #polarity of the BRX-PAX-PIP5K module is independent from PIN polarity • CLE45 signaling branches downstream of the BAM3 receptor

Our latest now typeset Ana Cecilia Aliaga Fandino/ Chechu/ 3시 Adavilla Petra Marhava Petrášek Lab: • PAX stimulates PIN-mediated auxin efflux but also PIN endocytosis > PIN activation and turnover may be linked • auxin efflux manipulation shifts timing of cellular differentiation track.smtpsendmail.com/9032119/c?p=3u…

Working title “Secrets of a Gene Body”: In our latest preprint we provide evidence for largely cell-autonomous (sic) action of the brassinosteroid receptor BRI1, which is necessary across multiple tissues to drive root growth. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
