Loved seeing the Offbeat Sari exhibition Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) There is a modern twist to the sari by Jay which was modelled by Harpz Kaur The exhibition is free & Sampads have summer events lined up. During WW2 Indian women wore their saris for service #history

I had the most glorious time last week helping donate books to children thanks to National Literacy Trust Collaborating with National Literacy Trust has been amazing. Together we are ensuring children have access to books to improve literacy rates. Kyle & Sue are amazing, the dream team #book

Thank you to Mr Hynan St Michael's C of E Primary Academy, Handsworth It was wonderful coming to see the school & donate books to help improve reading for pupils. Not everyone has access to libraries so I made it my mission to ensure books are accessible. Thanks to my friends National Literacy Trust for helping #books

Deeply saddened to hear about the death of baba Fauja Singh 💔 Such a lovely person and even at the age of 114 years old, he continued to shine a light. The world will not be the same. I hope they find the driver who knocked him down. Rest in peace 🕊️ #faujasingh

Our deputy-director Hardeep Singh (ਹਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ) writes: ‘…the ongoing marginalisation of the other faiths affected by the backlash to Islamic extremism – particularly Sikhs – is nothing short of shameful, short-sighted and discriminatory.’

Sharing my research on Major Prakash Singh who was a Sikh Indian soldier, awarded the Victoria Cross during the Second World War. He was awarded medal for his courage under fire against the Japanese. His medal is currently at IWM in the Lord Ashcroft Gallery. #sikhsoldier
