Year 8 A band had a visit from the Youth Engagement Officers today with a VR film exploring Community Issues. The workshop allowed for reflection, guided by the Youth Engagement Officers, after gaining an awareness of this Character & Culture topic. Scheduled for B band in June.

Our Y10 GCSE Drama students have been looking at the design element of the course this half term. Students finished their costume designs, taking inspiration from The Lion King. Miss Hemsworth is really impressed with the creativity and hard work shown from everybody, well done!

Empathy Day is on Thursday June 12th .  This week our WBAs will deliver a document to forms for them to complete on June 12th to consider how as a Form Bilton Students can be empathetic to others .  Completed forms will need to be returned to the library .

Great first day of our Highly Sprung Workshops! 32 students across year 7-10 were full of energy and creativity in today’s workshop! Looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow and the performance piece coming together!

Thursday, 12th June is Empathy day.  Reading helps develop empathy; understanding someone else's feelings and viewpoint. The following books are recommended by Empathylab.uk and are available from Bilton School library.

Year 8 had a great day out at Bletchley Park this week. They solved their own codes in a workshop, had a guided tour of the facilities getting to see and learn about what happened here during World War 2.

For the next few days, while temperatures are forecast to be high, can we please remind students to have suncream, refillable water bottles and a hat for PE lessons outdoors. Students are not required to wear blazers for the remainder of this week.

Well done to all the students for their excellent participation in the Highly Sprung Physical Fellowship this year. Amazing day of workshops with different professionals at the Belgrade theatre followed by a great technical rehearsal. Good luck for your performance tonight.

This weekend our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students completed their Qualifying Expedition in Bromsgrove. Everyone worked fantastically in their teams despite the hot weather, the hay fever and the cows!!

Our final ‘Big Create’ of the year is underway across the school with the theme of celebrating our schoolhouses ahead of Sports Day. Tutors have been building the competition by creating classroom doors inspired by the work of Gabor, Whittle, Macaulay and Merry .
