The 2025 CAO application season opened on 5th Nov. You can work on the application form til closing date of 1st Feb. Open your account by 20th Jan. for a discounted fee of €30. Fee then increases to €45 til 1st Feb. Good luck to everybody applying to CAO for a college place.

I was very sad at the death of Timothy West, who was married to Prunella Scales for 61 yrs. Pru played the part of Sybil in Fawlty Towers. Their life together is one of the great love stories best portrayed in the series Great Canal Journeys. Sail away over the waters, Skipper!

Congrats to Austin Stacks on winning the Munster Intermediate Club C'ship. Hopefully, The Rock will go on to capture the All-Ireland title. Congrats also to Crokes for winning the Munster Senior Club C'ship. Stacks v Crokes at senior level in 2025 is a mouth-watering prospect!

It's shaping up to be a great year for CAO applicants. 52,000+ college places will be available. Applicants have 'til 1st Feb. to submit an application It’s not too difficult to secure a CAO course if you research well and play to your strengths. Good luck with your application.

Hats off to CAO for providing an exceptional application closing date of 6th Feb. for those impacted by Storm Eowyn. CAO normal closing date is 1st Feb but noted that some applicants were unable to apply by then. CAO has given an extension to those who missed the deadline.

Leaving Cert runaway grades inflation will reduce in 2025 as CAO points set to drop. The post-marking adjustment will be an average of 5.5% down from an average of 7.5% last year. An average gain of about 60 CAO points last year should decrease to be about 43 points this year

CAO UPDATE FOR APPLICANTS CAO online Change of Mind facility opens on 6th May and closes on 1st July. 2025 offers season begins on 4th July with Round A. Round Zero offers follow on 7th August. Round One will be issued on 27th August. Round Two follows on 8th September.
