Clothe us, Lord,
in the garments
of your kingdom,
the qualities of love
that define your nature
and your mission.
Bind us as one in that love,
that we each may bring to bear
our voice, our life, our will,
and find together
deep harmony in you
as we follow your way.

In your resurrection, Lord,
you offer us the new life
of your kingdom,
and call us to be renewed
in your grace,
one body bound together
in your love.
Divert us from those things
that would seek to place
limits on your love
or make conditional
your commitment to us.

Keep us, Lord,
firmly rooted and grounded in you;
may the foundation of our lives
be not philosophies or theories,
statements or sophistries,
but our relationship with you and in you.
May our lives be built upon
our participation in your love,
our identity in you.

Keep us, Lord,
sure and steadfast
in our faith,
rooted and grounded
in your love,
established and settled
in our identity as your people,
members of your body
with you as the head.
When we need
to speak truth to power,
guide, sustain
and strengthen us
in your love.

Lord, we know that
try as we might
to live right,
it’s never long
before we go wrong;
our propensity
to turn in on ourselves
and away from others
and from you,
is strong;
often stronger
than our will to resist.
By your grace in our lives,
forgive and strengthen us.

Lord, you promised Abraham
that through him
all the nations of the earth
would be blessed.
In faith, he believed and trusted.
You make us heirs of the promise;
strengthen our faith and trust,
that we may be
channels of your blessing
to the world
and all its people.

Through your cross
and resurrection, Lord,
our life is assured;
not merely for now,
but for eternity;
our participation
in your kingdom
is guaranteed,
the victory of your love
over anything that would
keep us from you,
even death itself,
is sure.
Fill up our faith.

So often, Lord,
we see one another
and we see ourselves,
as merely the seed;
whereas you see in us
the potential for growth
into your kingdom
and into your life
that your love yearns
to bring forth in us
and through us.
Nourish us, tend us,
and help us to flourish.

Lord,
whatever life might bring our way,
whatever we might face
and have to deal with,
remind us that we meet
every situation,
every opportunity,
every challenge,
as members of your body,
disciples in your way,
children of your resurrection,
envoys of your kingdom.

Focus our hearts and minds, Lord,
on your purposes;
guide us by the wisdom of your Spirit,
that we may follow your way
and be subject to your will.
Make us part of your project
of love, life and light,
ambassadors of the new reality
that burst from your empty tomb.

Your resurrection, Lord,
changes the world,
changes the universe.
Inspire us not merely to seek
to believe this intellectually,
not merely to seek
to understand it theologically,
but to seek to live it joyfully,
reveal it continually
and show it daily
in our lives.

Manifest the new life
of your kingdom, Lord,
to us and through us;
may our lives be
transformed and animated
day by day
in our encounter with you,
with your risen life,
such that it shows
in all that we are
and shines
in all we say and do.
May our lives show yours.

As we joyfully proclaim
your resurrection, Lord,
may we open ourselves anew
to the life you have won for us,
the love which overcomes all things,
and welcomes us into
the light of your kingdom.
May our lives proclaim
‘He is risen indeed!’

You humbled yourself, Lord,
to share our human condition,
to live our human life.
You, the author of life,
shared even our death,
that all may be raised with you,
for death cannot overcome your love.
Fill us with that love
and the sure and certain hope
of new life.

Your love for us, Lord, is manifest
in your being born to share our life,
to live out that love among us;
the same love which remains faithful
in the face of hatred and violence,
the same love which held you to the cross.
May we behold and receive that love, today.

When we feel pressured, Lord,
to enable injustice
by shouting with the crowd,
giving in to peer pressure,
going with the flow,
bring us back to your way,
give us courage
to stand for your kingdom,
to follow your ways
of truth and justice,
to be agents of your love.

Lord, give us courage
in the assurance of your love
and of our identity in you,
to own you as Lord
and ourselves as your disciples.
Give us boldness,
but with grace and humility,
that we may share our faith in you,
our sure and certain hope
in your promise of life.

You emptied yourself, Lord,
that you might give your life
in love and service,
for us and all the world.
Help us lay aside
the demands of the ego,
and concern for status,
that we may offer ourselves
to you and to one another,
in the service
of your mission
of love.

Lord,
in this Holy Week
of your Passion
may your offering
of yourself for us,
inspire us to offer ourselves
to the work of your kingdom
in the world.
May we, your body,
be a sign to others
of your love and new life,
that all may encounter you
and find in you peace.

As we commemorate today
your entry into Jerusalem, Lord,
may we welcome you anew
into our lives.
Give us grace
not to seek to mould you
into our image,
but to let you mould us,
that your image in us
might shine out,
your love be manifest
in all we do, say, and are.
