Today at gymnastics a woman loudly snickered to another mom in reference to my 5 year old's eclectic pants: "Check out those leggings. I guess I forgot my obnoxious sparkles at home." To which my daughter threw her arms in the air and shouted "I AM QUEEN OF THE WORLD!"

The effect of these decisions is that it leaves residents feeling like we are being given up on, that we are a lost cause. Of course we would not be in this position were the federal response better prepared.
