Juvenile jackdaws make a lot of noise when they fall in your pond whilst trying to get a drink but not as much as the parent standing on the side clearly providing a bird version of a scolding!

Have had to institute marshal law in the garden. I do not agree with the parent jackdaw that continually bringing the juvenile down to drink at the waterfall & then scolding it when it falls in the pond is the correct approach. Watching them fly off laughing was the final straw.

Juvenile jackdaws are progressing well in their swimming abilities ... two of them did synchronised falling into the pond this morning ... twice. They stood on the edge egging each other on ... or were they counting 3, 2, 1?

Learning has happened ... juvenile jackdaws have sussed that standing in the waterfall is best place to get a drink but one took too long so another one jumped on their head to push them out of the way.

One of the juvenile jackdaws keeps having a wash and brush each time it gets in the waterfall. Those in the queue are not happy. Think things have been said because a parent came down and pushed them out!

Learning independence lesson today ... if parent jackdaw flies down to the pond while the juveniles are there, the juveniles just open their beaks and await a drink being given. Parent flies off, the juveniles attempt to get their own drink.
