Episode 23 at the summit of Kīlauea was short but spectacular. On May 25, the north and south vents in Halemaʻumaʻu erupted for about six hours. Dual fountains were active for much of the episode, as shown in this is USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory webcam timelapse video.
