Really enjoyed a couple of days birding around Lake Ontario - sea ducks galore including 000’s of LTD’s, White-winged, Surf & Black Scoters (in video), Barrow’s Goldeneye, Harlequin and King Eider. Also Uber-twitched Cave Swallow on Toronto waterfront then headed to the airport

Certainly signs of Spring on #Texel today - Bluethroats singing, LRP’s getting on with things almost immediately upon arrival, and a pair of Garganey. If you enjoy birding by bike there are so many cycle tracks, so much habitat and so many birds - and great beer!

Plenty of winter birds still on #Texel including a smart Black Brant, thousands of Barnacle Geese, drake Smew and Short-eared Owl. There are also hundreds of Db Brents and Russian White-fronts plus the Spectacled Eider is still present today (I’ve been to see it 3 times now)

Another sunny Spring day on #Texel and a male Ring Ouzel in the campsite grounds at the far north of the island - also a Swallow flew north #Migration

The Baikal Teal at Sint Pancras #Netherlands showed well early this afternoon

Popped out on my bike late this afternoon to a small wetland area not far from Gouda in the south #Netherlands and chanced upon a singing White-spotted Bluethroat - also a close up Russian White-fronted Goose #Birding

Late yesterday afternoon and some patch gold when a very smart male Ring Ouzel appeared in a field that I was already ‘scoping trying to find a calling Grey Partridge at Nar Valley Fisheries #KingsLynn - also 16 Sand Martins and the 2 lingering Russian White-fronts

A short dash to WWT Welney this morning to see the very obliging adult Roseate Tern - after seeing it on land for 5 minutes the bird then flew around in front of the main obs for over an hour giving superb close up views. 3 Garganey were also obliging in front of Lyle Hide

An excellent start to my trip heading east - Eagle Owl and two young in a quarry in the #Netherlands not far from the German border #Birding

Pitched up on the outskirts of Wrocław #Poland and this Great Reed Warbler is non-stop singing just in front of the van

Yesterday in Biebrza Marshes #Poland, my first Aquatic Warblers showed very well. A full day of good birds including Greater Spotted Eagle and White-backed Woodpecker plus Red-footed Falcon, hundreds of marsh Terns etc - thanks to Oliwier Myka for the arrangements

An early morning start in Białowieża forest was well rewarded - firstly with European Bison but then a male Red-breasted Flycatcher stole the show - or did Eurasian Pygmy Owl? - or …..?

Great Snipe lek a few days ago in eastern #Poland - digiscoping at dusk on spongy ground not easy - there were c.50 “birders” most of whom couldn’t stop ****ing talking! At least the weather was good and I saw at least 5 birds plus c.6 Corncrakes calling too Oliwier Myka
